Challenge
To grasp the challenges that greenkeepers and golf managers faces in their everyday work in order to create a useful and intuitive solution driven by golf player self monitoring data
Solution
Through a series of qualitative in-situ interviews and research on economic factors and work context, focus areas were selected – flow, course layout, wear and tear and playability. Analyzing how different player types spend time on different sections of the course can help explain slow play. Areas of the course that isn’t being taken into play can be removed or reallocated and savings calculated. Visualization of where golf players stand/walk/drive will reveal heavy wear and tear. Insights about where golf balls land can be used to adjust the layout of holes to fit all player types.
